January 25 | Sacred Ceremonies – Part 3: Confession, Romans 10:9-10 – Pastor Mark Pospisil

Synopsis: This is our third and final week of our Sacred Ceremonies series. We are looking at the importance of confession. Sometimes we forget that this is a practice that is given to us from God. It is vitally important for our spiritual growth, everyday lives, and relationship with God and others. Confession is a gift given to us by the Lord that allows us to acknowledge our sins and seek forgiveness. Listen to 1 John 1:9, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” The majority of our confession is before God. There is actually only one verse in the Bible , James 5:16, that tells us to confess our sins to another person. This Sunday, we are going to see why confession is so vital for our lives and how to practice this sacred ceremony.

Fighter Verse: 1 John 1:9 – If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

THEOLOGY REFRESH | JAN 24

Join us in the Worship Center at 10am

Join us for Theology Refresh—a once-a-month Saturday class designed to deepen your understanding of God’s Word and strengthen your faith. Each month, we’ll explore a different theological topic in a way that’s both engaging and accessible, whether you’re new to the faith or have been walking with Jesus for years. Come ready to learn, ask questions, and be refreshed in your knowledge of who God is and what He has done.

GRIEFSHARE | JAN 24

GriefShare is a safe, welcoming place where people understand the difficult emotions of grief. Through this 13-week group, you’ll discover what to expect and what’s “normal” in grief. Since there are no neat, orderly stages of grief, you’ll learn helpful ways of coping with grief, in all its unpredictability—and gain solid support each step of the way.

This 13-week session will meet weekly on Saturday beginning January 24 at 9am

TRANSFORMATION | FEB 2

Transformation Ministry is a spiritual healing ministry of The Lakes Church designed to help believers grow deeper in their relationship with God by “getting comfortable at the foot of the cross.” This ministry is for anyone who feels stuck or stalled spiritually, is facing roadblocks that seem to stand between them and God, or is seeking deeper connection with their Savior and with other believers. Through honest conversation, prayer, and Christ-centered encouragement, we create space for healing, growth, and renewal.

Transformation Ministry meets Monday nights from 7:00–8:30pm in the upper level beginning Feb 2.

BAPTISM | FEB 8

Baptism is the natural next step once we are saved! It represents the new life that Jesus’ resurrection gives us and is a public sign of our faith in Christ. If you have accepted Jesus as your Savior, we invite you to take this opportunity to demonstrate your faith in Christ.

We will have an opportunity to get baptized during all services on this Sunday. Please fill out this form to let me know you are interested in getting baptized!

Core Ministries – Weekly Update

BIG BIG topic this week! Some Christian struggle with their own faith today – balancing doing good things to ‘earn’ their salvation or by trying to avoid being ‘bad’. But salvation is a gift offered to us that we merely need to accept….then the proof of our following Him comes in the fruitfulness of our lives. Huge life lesson!

EARLY CHILDHOOD – Early Childhood (Birth – Kindergarten) program available during the 9:30 and 11:15 Sunday services.

ELEMENTARY AGE (1st-5th grade) – Elementary age program available Sundays during the 9:30 and 11:15 services and Wednesday Kids Creek from 6:30-8pm during the school year!

INFANT AND TODDLER STORYTIME – Looking for a Christ-centered way to break up your day, and get to meet other Moms with Littles? Come check out The Lakes Children Infant & Toddler Story Time. Ages 4 and under. 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month from 10am-12pm in the upper level of the church.
